Community

A primary objective of IPY is to link researchers and other participants across disciplines around the world and to build a broad community. The IPYDIS is one such community, built around the principles of data sharing and stewardship. We share the goal of serving the needs of IPY participants (researchers, educators, policy makers, interested public, etc.) and furthering the discipline of scientific data management.

We have established an online IPY Data & Information Services Discussion Forum for all matters related to IPY data management and access. We also plan to create the IPYDIS Directory of partners and services. This will be available soon. The IPYDIS values building community through face-to-face interaction. The events page lists upcoming IPY and related data management activities, while the presentation archive provides a resource for people interested in learning and communicating about IPY data issues.
